The cabin is fitted with cloth and synthetic leather upholstery. Up front, the driver benefits from a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. Chevy also gives the Encore a noise cancellation system to help make those long highway drives a bit more relaxing.

Infotainment and Safety Technology

The Encore boasts an impressive array of entertainment technology in its base setup. You get a 7-inch screen and six-speaker stereo, as well as a wireless hotspot so you can stay connected with friends or work colleagues wherever you are.

You can connect your phone to the Encore’s infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. BlueTooth and USB ports are also available.

Another difference between the two vehicles is found in the power train. The Encore GX has two engine options, a turbocharged three-cylinder that puts out 137 horsepower and a more powerful turbocharged alternative with a 155 horsepower output. Front-wheel drive Encore GXs get a continuously variable automatic transmission, while all-wheel drive models switch to a nine-speed automatic.

Unlike the Encore, the Encore GX is available in three trims: Preferred, Select, and Essence. The top-of-the-line Essence includes heated front seats and genuine leather upholstery.

You can further upgrade the 1.3 engine to all-wheel drive, which Chevrolet doesn’t offer on the 1.2-liter engine. The all-wheel-drive upgrade includes a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Trailblazer’s smaller engine provides a slower acceleration rate, making certain passing maneuvers more difficult. Despite its smooth handling through curves, its suspension isn’t as impressive as the Encore GX, creating a slightly rougher ride. The fuel economy is also similar to the Encore GX, at about 29 mpg city and 31 mpg highway.

Take a short walk from the Potomac Mills Mall and explore the world of Indian cuisine at the Taste of Tandoor. Highlighting the repertoire of North Indian cuisine and the centuries-old tradition of tandoori oven preparations, Taste of Tandoor treats guests to magnificent Indian-inspired fare for lunch.

Start your Indian meal with a piece of traditional Indian bread such as naan, onion kulcha, and paratha, all baked in the restaurant’s tandoor oven. This oven also imparts incredible flavor to Indian tandoori chicken or tandoori salmon dishes. Chefs marinate the highest quality meat and seafood in yogurt and a blend of spices overnight before skewering the ingredients and placing them in the oven to broil until tender. 

Chicken and lamb specialties include hearty chicken curry, featuring a rich sauce containing tomatoes and onions, and Rogan Josh. The latter of these dishes features tender pieces of boneless fresh lamb pieces cooked in a yogurt-based creamy curry sauce and enhanced by a select blend of Indian spices. 

Vegetable-based offerings on the Taste of Tandoor menu will please vegetarian tastes. Try the Navrattan Biryani, a dish that lets garden-fresh vegetables star with saffron basmati rice marinated with herbs, spices, and nuts. Vegan options are plentiful and include Baingan Bharta, a dish of baked and mashed eggplant cooked with onion, tomatoes, and herbs. Sample the Chana Masala, a delicious chickpea curry dish with Punjabi spices.

When you’re dining during the weekdays, you can order the chicken, lamb, and vegetable specialties served with basmati rice, naan bread, and salad.

Bollywood Bistro

Serving contemporary Indian cuisine, Bollywood Bistro offers a fresh take on classic dishes like tandoori, biryani, and tikka masala. Lost Dog Cafe

If you want choices for your lunch, Lost Dog Cafe is the place to go. You may want to study the menu before leaving the office for this American bistro bar serving more chilis, soups, salads, sandwiches, pastas, and pizzas than a food court. Try the signature Lost Dog Chili (vegetarian or traditional), or start with a savory chicken tortilla soup. The Classy Lassie salad features grilled chicken, avocado, and baby spinach, but the Lucky Clucker elevates Lucky Dog’s original chicken salad with the addition of dried cranberries, pine nuts, and avocado served on a bed of fresh greens. 

Lost Dog Cafe also offers plenty of seafood dishes, and that includes their pizza. Try the Old Bay Retriever with crab meat, mozzarella, and a sprinkling of Old Bay seasoning. Their Polynesian pizza adds shrimp to the classic ham and pineapple version. If you can, save room for desserts like the Good Dog A La Mode, a chocolate chip brownie topped with mint chocolate ice cream, or the Dalmatian, a float that swirls vanilla ice cream with their own Lost Dog Root Beer. Chloez Cafe

Get lunch or breakfast any time from Chloez Cafe. Chefs Joe and Caroline Herrera call their eatery “a neighborhood restaurant with real home cooking.” The local lunch spot features a gourmet burger menu with choices like the Bleu with blue cheese crumbles, bacon, and homemade blue cheese dressing or the Bronx Burger topped with grilled pastrami, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese. For lighter fare, choose from their salad menu with options like the chicken berry salad, a twist on the classic Greek with dried organic cranberries, Feta, black olives, and raspberry walnut vinaigrette.

Hungry for breakfast instead? Chloez serves only cage-free eggs in their dishes. Try the perfectly poached Eggs Benedict with house-made hollandaise sauce. Leesylvania State Park

Nestled right along the shores of the Potomac River, the Leesylvania State Park offers many opportunities for having fun on land and water. This 500-acre peninsula gives you the chance to just hike and walk around, have a nice gentle picnic, or take your kids to a nearby playground. If you’re the type to head out on the river, it offers a pier specifically for fishing and a place to store your boat. It also offers canoe and kayak rentals for a change of boating pace.

This area is a historic landmark filled with a rich past, and the park gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in it. The visitor center details the historic houses and nature that’s been in the area for thousands of years, and the park offers ranger programs throughout the season for those interested in exploration and animal observations.

Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge

The Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge gives you the chance to enjoy nature all year round. Established in June 1998, it’s a habitat specifically tailored for migratory birds and endangered species. It’s filled with diverse grassland, marsh, and forest habitats that attract a diverse variety of native flora and fauna. This leads to over 642 acres of visiting areas that encourage various wildlife-related recreational activities, like wildlife observation, photography, and education. There are established roads for hiking, biking, and driving, so you’ll have various ways of enjoying the joy of nature.

Neabsco Regional Park

The Neabsco Regional Park has over 300 acres of natural, educational, recreational, and historic sites, so you’ll find something that’s just right for your hobbies. You can walk through the Neabsco Creek Boardwalk, which is the perfect place to see some of Virginia’s local birds, including blue herons, wood ducks, mallards, sparrows, and red-winged blackbirds. Head towards the end, and you’ll find a beautiful view of the Potomac waterfront. 

You can then head up the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail, which gives you an 800-mile network of history, culture, and natural beauty. This lets you end your day at Rippon Landing, which offers a picnic area with grills and a pavilion that can fit up to 25 people.

Kane’s Creek

The Kane’s Creek and Eagle Spur trails are open year-round, giving you access to trails right nearby Woodbridge. It lets you hike, run, or walk in an area that gives you a great view of the nearby bay. You even walk straight to the Mason Neck State Park, which expands your itinerary to a large picnic area, a playground, and a visitor center with canoes and kayak rentals. A pleasant trailhead that gives you the chance to enjoy some solitude and maybe even a few bald eagles along the way.

Northern Virginia Sailing School

The Northern Virginia Sailing School is directly on the lower Potomac River right here in Woodbridge. Open since 2010, it offers multiple chances at American sailing certifications. There are specialized classes for all levels of sailing experience, and captains are always available to take groups out for rides around the river. Head to the sailing school and become a professional sailor today.

Old Hickory Golf Club

The Old Hickory Golf Club is a premier upscale golf course that all levels of golfers will enjoy. It’s a challenging green with lots of creeks to cross and sights to see, with beautiful scenery that is sure to impress and provide you and any friends you bring with many memorable moments. It’s a world-class course that preserves the true beauty that Woodbridge offers. They even offer events such as tournament cups and shambles that let you enjoy the sport with other like-minded individuals.

Aqua Rentals

To get an adventure on the harbor like never before, head right over to Aqua Rentals. They offer excursion packages that include the opportunity to speed through the waves of the Potomac River on a jet ski. No experience is necessary, as they offer a safety course to get anyone familiar with the water and the jet skis. Professional guides are also available for people who don’t want to ride alone. Waterworks Waterpark

The Waterworks Waterpark gives you an oasis on a hot summer day. It features a climbing facility, multiple water sprays and slides, water obstacles, wading pools, and a shallow beach area. Your visits can be tailored to any kind of group, from areas made specifically for families and children to a shaded shore lounge cabana area for the adults who want some casual tiki drinks. And to take a break from the water, there’s a softball and baseball field right behind the water park itself.

Hammill Mill Park

In the summer, a perfect little place to swim in is at Hammill Mill Park. This community pool is amazing and is great to visit as a lone swimmer or along with a family. It’s nice and clean and has a friendly staff that keeps the place nice and well maintained. On top of the pool, play a little basketball, let your kids wild on the playground or have a picnic with a view of the creek.
