2023 GMC Acadia

If you’re searching for a three-row SUV with user-friendly technology, impressive fuel economy, and posh finishes, get ready for the 2023 GMC Acadia. With four trim levels available, you can be sure you’ll find one that fits your needs. Trims include the base SLE, the SLT, the off-road-ready AT4, and the luxury Denali. Each trim level offers the classic Acadia style and bold details along with a series of technology features that are sure to impress.

Whether you need something that can tackle your adventures with ease or if you’re more interested in something on the high-end side, the 2023 Acadia has you covered with options to fit your needs.

Engine Options and Performance

Engine options will change for the 2023 Acadia to offer drivers more power and better fuel economy. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivered 193 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque on earlier models will be removed from the 2023 lineup. Instead, now you’ll find the SLE and SLT trims come standard with a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. This upgrade delivers up to 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The AT4 and Denali trims come standard with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine paired with a nine-speed transmission. You’ll get up to 310 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque with this engine, which is also available for the SLT.

The four-cylinder engine will help to preserve fuel economy and offers up to an EPA-estimated 25 mpg combined, while the V-6 gives you more power should you need to haul a trailer or boat. The AT4 trim level offers some appeal for those who travel off-road with all-wheel drive, all-terrain tires, and other highly capable performance options. You can also add all-wheel drive on the SLE, SLT, and Denali trim levels to enhance performance in various road and weather conditions.

Comfort and Interior Styling

A few tweaks have been added to the 2023 GMC Acadia to offer a more comfortable ride for you and your passengers. With the SLT trim level, you get a new steering wheel design with controls for cruise control and your audio system. The SLT and AT4 will come with cloth upholstery standard, and the AT4 allows for the addition of leather.

The SLE and Denali trims come standard with perforated leather seating. Spacious seating and plenty of legroom in the first two rows help make every ride more enjoyable. The third row is perfect for children or smaller adults to allow you to make the most out of the rear cargo space. Additional standard features include tri-zone automatic climate control with individual climate settings, a spacious center console with a rear storage drawer and two cup holders, and six-passenger seating with two seats in each row. Available features include heated front and second-row seating, a heated steering wheel, and ventilated front seats.

Technology and Infotainment

When it comes to technology and infotainment, the 2023 GMC Acadia has you covered. Standard features include Wi-Fi hot spot capability and an 8-inch GMC infotainment system with a touch-screen display. With wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay technology, you can remotely connect your phone and access your navigation, phone calls, and favorite music apps to listen to your top playlists and podcasts while on the road.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

GMC’s wide range of advanced safety and driver assistance features continues for the 2023 Acadia. Standard options include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and rear cross-traffic alert. You also get a lane departure warning, parking sensors, pedestrian detection, and a lane-keep assist system. Available options include an adaptive cruise control system as well as a head-up display that allows you to monitor your speed and view other important information about your trip without taking your eyes off the road.

Exterior Styling

The 2023 GMC Acadia Denali has a strong presence on the road with eye-catching details, from the headlights to the liftgate. With the SLT and SLT, you get 18-inch alloy wheels, while the AT4 offers 17-inch wheels and all-terrain tires. The Denali features 20-inch wheels that coincide with the luxury of the trim level. The SLE also comes with a keyless entry, a manual liftgate, and LED lighting. On the top-of-the-line Denali, you get exterior options such as a signature Denali grille, IntelliBeam headlamps, and a power programmable, hands-free liftgate with emblem projection.

Three Fresh Paint Colors

We’ve learned that the 2023 Acadia comes in your choice of three new paint colors. After the 2022 model, GMC announced they plan to drop the following colors from their lineup: Satin Steel Metallic, Midnight Blue Metallic, and Cayenne Red Tintcoat. 2023 GMC Acadia by GMC

The GMC Acadia is an excellent choice if you’re looking to upgrade to a three-row midsize SUV. It offers a refined ride quality, quick acceleration, and many technology features to keep you and your passengers connected and entertained. The 2022 model year also adds more safety and driver-assistance features as standard on the Acadia.

There’s an Acadia for everyone with four trim levels: SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali. For those looking for more than what the base trim offers but not looking to go with an off-road-ready version, the SLT and Denali are both excellent choices. Our team at Koons Woodbridge Buick GMC would like to help you decide between the Acadia SLT and the Denali.

Exterior Features

The 2022 GMC Acadia SLT has 18-inch aluminum wheels, a roof-mounted shark fin body-color antenna, body-color door handles, brushed aluminum roof-mounted side rails, and deep-tinted glass. You also get C-shaped LED signature lighting, LED fog lights, LED headlights, intermittent wipers, a hands-free power programmable liftgate, and heated power outside mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators.

Upgrading to the 2022 GMC Acadia Denali trim gets you 20-inch ultra-bright machined aluminum wheels, body-color door handles with chrome accents, and bright roof-mounted side rails. You also get heated power auto-dimming outside mirrors with integrated turn signals and a signature Denali grille.

Power and Performance

With the Acadia SLT, you get a 2.0-liter four-cylinder paired with an electronically controlled nine-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and gear range select for smooth, effortless shifting. This combination delivers 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque and includes stop/start technology that shuts the engine off when you’re idling at a full stop. This fuel-efficient feature saves you time and money at the pump. The four-cylinder engine also comes with variable valve timing and spark ignition direct injection. Front-wheel drive is standard, and an all-wheel-drive option is available.

To compare, the 2022 Acadia Denali features a 3.6-liter V-6 engine with 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. This engine has active fuel management, variable valve timing, spark ignition direct injection, and a variable displacement oil pump that delivers performance without sacrificing fuel economy. The stop/start feature on the V-6 engine also lets you enjoy fuel savings on the Denali. The same electronically controlled nine-speed automatic transmission is mated to the V-6.

The Denali also comes standard with front-wheel drive, which can be traded for all-wheel drive to provide more control in various weather and road conditions. With the trailering package, the Denali can tow up to 4,000 pounds, letting you bring along all the toys for a weekend of family adventures.

Both trims offer StabiliTrak electronic control system with traction control that automatically enhances control by adjusting the engine torque and brakes to keep you on your intended path. This traction control also detects slippage, especially on snowy or wet roads, and reduces engine power or applies brake pressure to help you maintain control. You also get four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, dual-outlet exhaust, and ride and handling suspension. Traction select lets you choose from Normal, Snow, Sport, and Trailer/Tow modes on the front-wheel-drive powertrain, while the all-wheel drive has 4×4, 2×4, Sport, Off-Road, and Trailer/Tow modes.

Interior Features

Slide into the 2022 GMC Acadia SLT and you’ll notice that the interior is designed for the comfort and convenience of drivers and passengers alike. As you roll down the road, you’ll enjoy the leather upholstery, heated front seats, and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. You also get a household-style outlet, remote start, a navigation system, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

The 8-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is connected to an eight-speaker Bose audio system with an HD radio. Tri-zone automatic climate control, keyless ignition and entry, five USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, OnStar connected services, and active noise cancellation are also standard.

Moving up to the 2022 GMC Acadia Denali trim adds ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, driver’s seat memory functions, and an eight-way power-adjustable passenger seat for your comfort. You’ll also find a digital instrument panel and wireless charging pad for your convenience. The Technology package on the Denali includes a digital rearview mirror that allows you to see out the back even with a fully loaded cargo area. You can also add a panoramic sunroof to let the outside in on sunny days with the optional Denali Ultimate package.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Aids

GMC takes your safety very seriously and has loaded the 2022 Acadia with a plethora of standard and available safety and driver-assistance aids. Standard features include an advanced air bag system that will deploy to protect you and your passengers in the event of a collision. GM Pro Safety Plus is a comprehensive suite of features on all Acadia trims. Features include automatic emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, lane-keeping assist, a lane departure warning, and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert.

The Denali adds a head-up display to this list of features to allow you to keep your eyes on the road at all times. With the Technology package on the Denali, you can also add a surround-view camera system, adaptive cruise control, and enhanced automatic braking for a forward collision mitigation system.

The Verdict

You can’t go wrong with either trim of the 2022 GMC Acadia. The tricky part will just be choosing which features suit you and your lifestyle best. The SLT offers plenty of features at a great price point, while the Denali comes out swinging with all the bells and whistles. Whichever one you choose, you will end up in an excellent midsize three-row SUV.

This is the Buick Envision Avenir, a car that represents the best of both luxury and innovation. The Avenir nameplate is reserved for the most luxurious models in the Buick lineup, and this car does not disappoint. It comes packed with advanced technology features that will make your driving experience more enjoyable than ever before. Let’s take a closer look at some of these features!

One of the most impressive features of the Envision is its Heads-Up Display. This feature projects important information onto the windshield, so you can keep your eyes on the road while still being aware of your speed, navigation, and more. The HUD is also customizable, so you can choose to display only the information that is most important to you.

Another great feature of the Envision is its lane keeping assist. This system uses cameras and sensors to detect when your car starts to drift out of its lane. If it detects that you’re veering off course, it will provide gentle steering assistance to help keep you on track.

There is no doubt about it: road trips are the ultimate adventure. No matter where you’re headed, and whether you plan to drive straight through to your destination, stop along the way to sleep at hotels or motels, or even camp out in your car, you just can’t beat the excitement of a road trip. To make sure the whole trip goes smoothly, here are some tips to take into consideration before and after you hit the road.

Clean Your Car

There’s no doubt you’ll pick up wrappers, receipts, and more along the way, so you’ll be much better off if you clean out all this junk from your car before you head out. There’s nothing better than getting into a clean car, from the freshly vacuumed floor to the empty door pockets and clean cup holders. You won’t regret taking the time to clean everything out before you get started and add more junk to the pile.

Get Your Vehicle Checked

Bring your car to the shop for a complete once-over before leaving on a long road trip. Have the mechanic check everything from the tires to the oil and the battery. If you’re headed someplace warm, you should also have the air conditioning checked. You don’t want to drive into 90-degree temperatures and realize that your a/c needed a charge.

Come Up With a Plan

It’s always a good idea to have a plan and to work it out with your fellow passengers. Do you want to take your time getting to your destination and see some sights along the way, or do you need to get somewhere as fast as possible? Make sure you are all on the same page.

You’ll also want to plan your general route, keeping in mind that it might need to change if you run into traffic or road work.

Create a Road Trip Playlist

If you’re traveling alone, create a playlist of all your favorite tunes, and if you’re traveling with family or friends, work together to come up with a playlist that you all enjoy. Having this set ahead of time will not only make the ride more relaxing or hyped-up if that’s the type of music you like, it’s also safer. You don’t want to be fiddling with your phone while you are driving.

Plan for Extra Time on the Road

As mentioned before, it’s a good idea to have a general plan, but leave some extra time for unexpected experiences. You don’t want to have to pass by one-of-a-kind roadside attractions because you just didn’t leave enough time. Stopping at these types of attractions also gives you a chance to get out of the car and stretch your legs and move around a little.

Pack Snacks Before You Leave

The right food can make or break your trip. Pack enough snacks to last the whole trip, and make sure you have a good variety. Some junk food is expected, but don’t go overboard. You might regret not having enough healthy snacks once you are on the road for a while. Fill up several water bottles before you leave so you don’t have to buy plastic bottles on the road. This is not only cheaper, it’s better for the environment.

If you need to stop for snacks along the way, don’t buy them at a gas station. Use your phone or maps to find a grocery store. It will have a better variety, and you’ll save money.

Don’t Let the Gas Gauge (Battery) Get Too Low

The best way to ensure you never run out of gas or electric power is to fill up or charge up every time you stop. If you always have a full tank or battery, you won’t run into any problems if you have to drive through an area where there are no gas stations.

Avoid Rush Hour Traffic

If you can, plan your route to avoid rush hour traffic, especially in cities. Another important tip is to avoid dinner and lunchtimes if you stop for food. You don’t want to waste time on your trip sitting in traffic or waiting for a table. Eat meals before or after busy times, and travel during the slower times on the highway. It’s easy to avoid traffic jams with a GPS with live traffic information. If you do find yourself in a situation where the traffic gets backed up, make sure you have WAZE on your phone to help with navigation.

Book Attractions Ahead

If there are certain attractions you want to see along the way, book your tickets ahead of time. Depending on where you go and what time of year it is, many attractions will sell out. Having tickets will keep you on track and ensure that you don’t miss your must-sees.

Take Lots of Pictures

Make sure to document your trip by taking lots of pictures along the way. When you’re telling friends about what you saw, you’ll want to be able to show them. When you look back on the trip a few years from now, having the pictures to go with the memories will bring it to life.

Prepare for Extreme Weather

Whether you’re traveling in the winter when you could run into a snowstorm or in the summer or spring when you could encounter thunderstorms and heavy rain, be prepared. Pack the right type of clothing for the weather, and make sure you have extra clothes if you need to change into something dry.

Bring chains if your road trip takes you through snowy areas, and make sure your vehicle not only has good tires but snow tires if you need them.

Follow these tips for your next road trip, and it’s sure to be a success. Before you head out, stop by Koons Woodbridge Buick GMC to find the perfect road trip vehicle. Whether you want a large SUV with room for all your friends and gear, or something smaller and fuel-efficient, you can find what you need.
