The 2023 GMC Acadia is set to arrive soon and brings a series of impressive updates to the classic features you’ve come to love about the SUV. It’s the seventh model year for the current nameplate and the final model set to drop before the arrival of the newest next-gen Acadia in 2024. Engine Options and Performance

Engine options will change for the 2023 Acadia to offer drivers more power and better fuel economy. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivered 193 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque on earlier models will be removed from the 2023 lineup. Instead, now you’ll find the SLE and SLT trims come standard with a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. This upgrade delivers up to 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The AT4 and Denali trims come standard with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine paired with a nine-speed transmission. You’ll get up to 310 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque with this engine, which is also available for the SLT.

The four-cylinder engine will help to preserve fuel economy and offers up to an EPA-estimated 25 mpg combined, while the V-6 gives you more power should you need to haul a trailer or boat. The AT4 trim level offers some appeal for those who travel off-road with all-wheel drive, all-terrain tires, and other highly capable performance options. You can also add all-wheel drive on the SLE, SLT, and Denali trim levels to enhance performance in various road and weather conditions.

Comfort and Interior Styling

A few tweaks have been added to the 2023 GMC Acadia to offer a more comfortable ride for you and your passengers. With the SLT trim level, you get a new steering wheel design with controls for cruise control and your audio system. The SLT and AT4 will come with cloth upholstery standard, and the AT4 allows for the addition of leather.

The SLE and Denali trims come standard with perforated leather seating. Spacious seating and plenty of legroom in the first two rows help make every ride more enjoyable. The third row is perfect for children or smaller adults to allow you to make the most out of the rear cargo space. Additional standard features include tri-zone automatic climate control with individual climate settings, a spacious center console with a rear storage drawer and two cup holders, and six-passenger seating with two seats in each row. Available features include heated front and second-row seating, a heated steering wheel, and ventilated front seats.

With the SLT and SLT, you get 18-inch alloy wheels, while the AT4 offers 17-inch wheels and all-terrain tires. The Denali features 20-inch wheels that coincide with the luxury of the trim level. The SLE also comes with a keyless entry, a manual liftgate, and LED lighting. On the top-of-the-line Denali, you get exterior options such as a signature Denali grille, IntelliBeam headlamps, and a power programmable, hands-free liftgate with emblem projection.

Three Fresh Paint Colors

We’ve learned that the 2023 Acadia comes in your choice of three new paint colors. After the 2022 model, GMC announced they plan to drop the following colors from their lineup: Satin Steel Metallic, Midnight Blue Metallic, and Cayenne Red Tintcoat. To make up for these colors, GMC has added Sterling Metallic, Ultra Blue Metallic, and Volcanic Red Tintcoat, which are expected to be available on all 2023 Acadia trim levels.
