Enclave Interior Tour
If you’re ready to elevate your Virginia to Washington commute or simply want the comfort and convenience features that make your local Woodbridge drive more relaxing, a new Enclave from Buick can do that and more. The three-row 2021 Enclave SUV has impressive power, all the latest in-vehicle tech, and the capabilities of cutting-edge driver-assist systems to please the most discriminating drivers. Let’s take a tour of the Buick Enclave’s interior, highlighting the best features the whole family will love.
QuietTuning Technology

Enjoying your ride has as much to do with comfort as with calm. That’s why Buick’s QuietTuning technology with Active Noise Cancellation makes such a remarkable difference. Buick uses acoustic laminated glass in the front side windows and windshield, triple door seals, and a noise-reducing five-link rear suspension system to help reduce, block, and absorb road and engine noise for a quieter ride.
Smart Slide Technology
The midsize Enclave seats up to seven in premium comfort, and getting in has never been easier with Buick’s Smart Slide second-row seats. With the pull of a handle, the second-row seats slide forward to access the third row easily. Also, the passenger side seat tilts as it slides, even with an empty child seat installed using the LATCH child safety seat system.
Premium Touches
The front seats in the Enclave come standard with heating capability, and you can add ventilation as an option. You can activate the heating and ventilation automatically upon startup, giving you the personalized comfort you desire. The system will continue adjusting without additional input based on your settings and the temperature inside and outside your Enclave.
Your Enclave offers premium finishes with warm wood tones and brushed-chrome trim and available massaging leather seats in the first two rows. In addition, the center console features a pass-through compartment for storing personal items away from prying eyes.
Cargo Capacity
The available power-operated 60/40 split-folding third-row seat offers multiple cargo configurations. With the third-row seat upright, you have 23.6 cubic feet of cargo space. The third row folds flat to increase your cargo capacity to 58 cubic feet behind the second row. Folding both the second and third rows flat expands your cargo area to a cavernous 97.6 cubic feet. Also, you have a 10-inch deep hidden storage space in the rear cargo hold.
Infotainment & Technology
Every Enclave comes with the Buick Infotainment System allowing you to access in-vehicle apps, play your favorite music, make hands-free calls, and more. You use an 8-inch color touch screen to operate your in-vehicle technology and synched cellphones. Setting up a personal profile allows you additional features like Buick Connected Navigation, which delivers turn-by-turn directions and real-time points of interest along your route.
Apple CarPlay compatibility lets you link to Apple Music and Apple Apps to stream your playlists and use your personal apps through the touch screen or hands-free using Siri. You can make phone calls, reply to text messages, and more using intuitive voice commands. Android Auto capability syncs your smartphone, letting you use Google services like Maps and Google Play Music through the touch screen.
Buick offers an available 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot that connects up to seven devices. As a result, all your passengers can use their smart devices to surf the internet, play games, watch television or movies, connect through social media, and more. In addition, the hot spot boasts a range of up to 50 feet from your Enclave.
One of your in-vehicle apps, Spotify, allows you to listen to podcasts, stream your playlists, get personalized recommendations, and browse the over 60 million tracks to find your next favorite tune.
SiriusXM Satellite Radio with 360L offers the most advanced listening experience. With your SiriusXM subscription, you’ll get an unparalleled variety of content from various media sources. SiriusXM’s innovative system makes it easy to use and personalize.
Buick Connected Services
With Buick Connected Services, you get 10 years of complimentary Connected Access. Connected Services include Vehicle Diagnostics providing health updates and other maintenance information. In addition, Smart Driver technology comes with Buick Connected Services, allowing your good driving habits to save you money on your insurance premiums.
The Marketplace app included in your Connected Services package lets you find and shop at thousands of locations throughout the Virginia area. You can shop and pay for gas and food, book a hotel room, and more right through your touch screen. Also, you’ll receive special offers from thousands of national retailers when you use the Marketplace app.
Buick offers a Remote Access Plan for $14.99 per month, which includes all the Connected Services features, plus a remote key fob that locks, unlocks, and starts your vehicle using the app on your smartphone from anywhere. So you can locate your car in those mammoth parking lots, or if the unthinkable happens, and someone takes your Enclave without your permission. On-Demand Diagnostics come with the Remote Access Plan, too, giving you real-time diagnostics and system alerts through the app as they happen.
You can opt for the Buick Connected Vehicle Plan at $24.99 per month, which includes all the features of the Remote Access Plan, plus unlimited 4G LTE data. Top 5 Ice Cream Spots in Woodbridge
When it comes to summertime in northern Virginia, there’s nothing better than sweet and decadent ice cream. As the heat rises and humidity becomes overwhelming, you know it’s time to hop in the car and get a frozen treat. Summertime in Virginia means outdoors, sports, and the distinct possibility of overheating. It’s an ideal time to get the family together or meet your friends for a sweet treat. And if you’re based in the Woodbridge area, you know that ice cream spots abound, both right in town and a short drive away.
Sure, there are quite a few chain ice cream places around, but we believe in supporting local and trying some of the more unique spots. To help you do this, we’ve listed our top five favorite local ice cream parlors in and around Woodbridge, Virginia. It’s time to plan that next sweet escape!
Frostie Moose Soft Ice Cream Store

There’s nothing quite like a tall, well-balanced soft serve ice cream to satisfy that sweet craving. At Frostie Moose, the staff is experts in building a mountain-high cone balanced with the perfect toppings. In fact, the impressively high cones are nearly famous! Consistently receiving four to five stars on all online review platforms, you know you’re getting value for your money at this Woodbridge ice cream shop. They even have vegan options to cater to all customers, so everyone can find something to suit their tastes.
Visitors call their ice cream perfectly creamy, rich, and delicious, and they offer generous portion sizes. Starting with a relatively simple menu of flavors, including vanilla, chocolate, peanut butter, mint, strawberry, and more, Frostie Moose offers dozens of toppings and numerous cone options to customize your order. Try a milkshake, malt, or sundae next time you visit.
La Neveria Michoacana
If you’re looking for a different kind of ice cream experience or want to branch out in the flavors you try, then search no further than La Neveria Michoacana. An authentic Mexican ice cream shop in the heart of the DC-Maryland-Virginia metro area, La Neveria Michoacana consistently impresses. Flavors include popular options such as vanilla and cookies and cream but also branch into the more exotic and out of the ordinary, such as tequila and rose.
One of their most popular and interesting offerings is Mangonada, which is a fresh mango ice cream made with real mango, topped with tamarind and chili mix. It is definitely a unique ice cream experience and one that will certainly help you escape the heat of the Virginia summer. The line can get long, especially on hot days, so be sure to get there early or be prepared to wait a while. Of course, we think the wait is well worth it.
Campbell’s Frozen Custard
Another local option for a frozen treat is Campbell’s Frozen Custard, offering up ice cream’s creamier cousin. Campbell’s is a family-run business, which offers a limited menu of vanilla and chocolate, as well as two special flavors, every day. Their website also offers a monthly forecast of special flavors, so you can plan your visit to get your favorite option. They definitely get creative with special flavors, including Spice Cake, Maple Walnut, Birthday Cake, Key Lime Pie, and more.
In case you aren’t certain, custard differs from ice cream in that it’s made with egg yolk incorporated into a milk, sugar, and cream base. Normal ice cream may have egg yolk but does not necessarily incorporate it to the same level. Bring your furry friend — they have pup cups for dogs who also want to cool down on a hot day.
Jimmy T’s Soft Serve
If you’re willing to leave town for the perfect cone, just 8 miles from Woodbridge down Route 1 in Dumfries, you’ll find Jimmy T’s Soft Serve. Started in Fredericksburg, Jimmy T’s opened this second location near Woodbridge and is a true Virginia original. The owners believe in offering their customers a wide variety of options, with an impressive menu of over 26 flavors of soft serve ice cream.
They also offer sundaes, including specialty sundaes like the Peanut Butter Blast, which has chocolate and peanut butter sauce, ice cream, and Reese’s and Nutter Butter cookies, along with shakes and Jimmy Mombo’s, which is ice cream with one mixed-in topping. They even have shaved ice for those who prefer something less creamy. It’s definitely worth the short drive out of Woodbridge to try this ice cream spot.
Nathan’s Dairy Bar
This next spot is a bit further afield — a 30-minute drive from Woodbridge in Manassas — but it’s worth it. Nathan’s Dairy Bar is about as classic as you can get. From the red and white facade to the retro dairy bar sign to the picnic tables with large umbrellas, this 20-year-old ice cream stand is the real deal. In addition to staple flavors, Nathan’s offers seasonal specialties such as harvest apples in the autumn and pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving. Be sure to visit their website and look out for special offers, such as buy-one-get-one, before you make the drive.
Ice cream isn’t just for summer. Throughout the year, you’ll find friendly faces ready to serve up a refreshing treat at these local ice cream spots. GMC Sierra Towing Capacity
If you’re looking for a competent pickup truck in Woodbridge, Virginia, consider coming to Koons Woodbridge Buick GMC to view the 2021 GMC Sierra. Available in 1500, 2500HD, and 3500HD versions, this solidly built truck can achieve a maximum towing capacity of 36,000 pounds, the second-highest in its segment. However, its tow rating can vary greatly depending on several factors, including the engine, drivetrain, cab style, and towing equipment. Check out this detailed guide to the towing capacity of the 2021 GMC Sierra.
2021 GMC Sierra 1500

The 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 is a great option if you plan to do light- or medium-duty towing. This version of the Sierra comes with five powertrain options, which are:
- 4.6-liter V-6 with 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque and a six-speed automatic transmission.
- 2.7-liter turbo-four with 310 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
- 5.3-liter V-8 with 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque and a six-, eight-, or 10-speed automatic transmission.
- 3.0-liter turbo-diesel with 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque and a 10-speed automatic transmission.
- 6.2-liter V-8 with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque and a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Additionally, the truck comes with two drivetrain choices: rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. It’s also available in regular, double, and Crew Cab body styles and short, standard, and long box lengths.
If you opt for the base V-6 engine, the tow rating of the GMC Sierra 1500 ranges from 7,400 to 7,900 pounds. You can tow up to 7,900 pounds by choosing a Regular Cab model with rear-wheel drive and the standard box.
The truck can tow up to 9,100 pounds with the Crew Cab body style, rear-wheel drive, and a short or standard box when equipped with the turbo-four engine. A Crew Cab model with four-wheel drive has a slightly lower tow rating of 8,900 pounds.
Moving up to the 5.3-liter V-8 results in a towing capacity range of 8,800 to 9,900 pounds. If you want to be able to pull up to 9,900 pounds, you need to get a Regular Cab model with two-wheel drive and a long box.
A diesel-powered model can lug a maximum weight of 8,500 to 9,200 pounds. To pull 9,200 pounds, it needs to be in the Crew Cab configuration and fitted with rear-wheel drive and a short box.
The Sierra 1500 reaches its full towing potential with the 6.2-liter V-8 engine, Crew Cab body style, four-wheel drive, standard box, and the Max Trailering Package. With this combination, the truck can tow up to 11,800 pounds. The least capable model with the top-of-the-line engine is a Crew Cab with four-wheel drive and a short box, which has a significantly lower towing capacity of 8,600 pounds.
2021 GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD

If you plan to use your new pickup truck to tow hefty loads, you should get the GMC Sierra 2500HD or 3500HD. As the “heavy duty” versions of the Sierra, the 2500HD and 3500HD are mainly used in construction sites and farms, but they’re also often seen towing boats and campers. Regardless of which of the two versions you choose, you’ll have a choice of two powertrains, which are:
- 6.6-liter V-8 with 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque and a six-speed automatic transmission.
- 6.6-liter turbo-diesel V-8 with 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque and a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Similar to the Sierra 1500, the 2500HD and 3500 HD come standard with rear-wheel drive and offer four-wheel drive as an option. In addition, you can opt for a Regular Cab, Double Cab, or Crew Cab and a standard or long bed.
The GMC Sierra 2500HD can achieve a maximum towing capacity of 14,500 pounds with four-wheel drive, the Crew Cab body style, and a conventional hitch with a gas-powered engine. If it’s equipped with a fifth-wheel or gooseneck hitch, it can pull up to 16,620 pounds. Choosing the turbo-diesel engine increases the tow rating of the 2500HD to 18,500 pounds, regardless of the drivetrain, body style, box length, or trailer hitch.
For optimal towing capabilities, go for the Sierra 3500HD. When it’s fitted with a long bed, this version of the Sierra comes in two-wheel configurations: single rear wheels and dual rear wheels. If you choose the gas-powered engine, a Crew Cab model can tow up to 16,530 pounds with four-wheel drive and a fifth-wheel or gooseneck hitch.
On the other hand, the diesel engine enables a Sierra 3500HD model with four-wheel drive, the Crew Cab body style, a long box, a fifth-wheel or gooseneck hitch, and dual rear wheels to deliver a maximum towing capacity of 31,180 pounds. If you equip this specific model with the available towing packages and features, you can increase its tow rating to a whopping 36,000 pounds.
Towing Features of the 2021 GMC Sierra
Other than a tough body, powerful engines, and basic towing equipment, the 2021 GMC Sierra also offers an array of available features that enable it to tow more effectively and safely, including:
- Max Trailering Package: The Max Trailering Package includes heavy-duty rear springs, revised shock tuning, automatic locking rear differential, a 220-amp alternator, a radiator cooler, and a trailer brake controller.
- Trailering Camera Package: Side-view mirror cameras and a trailer-mounted camera for improved side and rear visibility.
- Integrated trailer brake controller: With the integrated trailer brake controller, you can conveniently activate and monitor the trailer brakes from inside your truck.
- Traction select system: This feature enables you to adjust the StabiliTrak system, the transmission shift points, and throttle mapping to improve your truck’s traction when towing or hauling.
- Auto electric parking brake assist: This industry-first technology will automatically apply the electronic parking brakes for enhanced safety when you park your truck.
The best way to determine whether the 2021 GMC Sierra can meet your expectations is to take it for a test drive at Koons Woodbridge Buick GMC. Contact us today to schedule an appointment.

Additionally, the intellibeam Auto High Beams will make it easier for you to see around your vehicle. The headlights can automatically turn on when the lighting conditions are low.
Car Leasing vs. Buying
When it comes time to get your next vehicle, you’re faced with two primary options — you can either lease a vehicle or buy one. As you’re browsing, you’ll likely see different prices based on whether you lease or buy the vehicle. However, there’s more to consider than just the cost of the vehicle when you’re trying to decide whether you want to buy or lease. Below, we’ll cover some of the biggest benefits of both options and give you some tips on how to decide which is right for you.
Benefits of Buying Your Next Vehicle

First, let’s look at buying a vehicle. When you buy a vehicle, you typically pay for it with a combination of cash, a trade-in, and an auto loan. These loans typically last between five and seven years and allow you to pay off the value of the car a little bit at a time. However, auto loans also come with interest, meaning you’ll end up paying considerably more than the initial loan amount by the time the loan term is complete.
One of the biggest benefits of buying a vehicle is that eventually, you won’t have to worry about car payments. If you take out a five-year auto loan and pay it off on time, you won’t have any more car payments once that five-year period is up. This is a great benefit for those people who intend on keeping their vehicles for a long time. With proper maintenance, you can likely keep your vehicle in great shape well beyond five years, enabling you to get great value out of it and have several years without monthly auto payments.
When you buy a vehicle, you also get a wider selection. Since leases are only available on new vehicles, you don’t have the option to get something a little older. The option to buy a car is available on both new and pre-owned vehicles, giving you a wider selection to choose from.
Another benefit of buying a vehicle is that you are the owner. With a lease, you are essentially borrowing the vehicle from the dealership, which means it comes with some limitations. For example, if you want to perform some modifications on your vehicle, such as adding a remote starter, you can’t do that with a lease. Owning the vehicle also gives you an asset in your financial history, which can benefit your credit score.
Finally, when you own a vehicle, you can sell it when you’re done with it. This enables you to recover some of the value of the vehicle, which you can then put toward your next car. With a lease, you just give the car back to the dealer.
Benefits of Leasing
Leasing a vehicle comes with its own benefits. One of the primary reasons people choose to lease a vehicle is the monthly cost. Dealerships often offer great lease deals that make owning the car more affordable each month. If you’re more concerned with the monthly payment on your vehicle rather than the long-term cost, you may prefer to get a lease.
Another benefit of leasing is that you’re always driving the latest vehicles. Leases are only available on the newest models, meaning you’re getting a car with all the latest equipment, entertainment, and safety features. Car manufacturers regularly make improvements to their vehicles, to the point that a vehicle that’s only a few years old can feel out of date. If you like the reliability and enjoyment of driving a new vehicle, this is much easier to do over the long term if you choose to lease.
Finally, since you’re driving only the newest vehicles, you typically don’t have to worry as much about repair costs. While those who buy vehicles may eventually pay off their vehicle, they also have to pay more in regard to car maintenance and repairs. The older a vehicle gets, the more likely it is to break down and need expensive repairs. If you’re tired of unexpected repair costs or getting stuck on the side of the road, you can significantly lower your chances of this happening by going with a lease over buying.
How To Decide Which is Right for You?
There are pros and cons to both buying and leasing. It’s more important to think about which option is right for you, rather than which option is best. To help you decide this, here are a few things to consider.
First, think about your financial situation. How much can you afford to pay each month, and how much can you put as a down payment right now? These are likely the two biggest factors that will determine whether buying or leasing is a better fit.
After that, think about your ideal future situation. Would you prefer to no longer have car payments in a few years, in exchange for driving around an older model? Or would you prefer to always have the newest vehicle, avoiding many repair costs and having a more enjoyable drive?

The Buick Enclave vs Buick Encore
A new SUV from Buick can help elevate your commute, whether you cross the Potomac River or head north into Washington, D.C. Buick offers several quality SUVs from which to choose, like the Enclave and the Encore. Both vehicles have numerous features that appeal to different drivers. However, sorting through the features and benefits of both takes time. That’s why we created this head-to-head comparison of the Buick Enclave and the Buick Encore. After reading the highlights of both SUVs, you’ll have the answers you need to make an informed decision that makes sense for you.
Buick Enclave Overview

This seven-passenger SUV has features the whole family will love. It features a stylish modern exterior, all the comfort and convenience amenities you crave, and powerful performance options to get you where you need to go, no matter the road and weather.
Buick Enclave Trim Highlights
The Buick Enclave comes in four available trims — Preferred, Essence, Premier, and Avenir. Each trim has subtle differences yet remains unmistakably Buick Enclave. The base model Preferred comes nicely equipped with a 310 horsepower 3.6-liter V-6 engine that has the power you want without sacrificing economy.
Preferred models have Buick’s Quiet Tuning Technology that helps keep unwanted engine and road noise out, letting you enjoy your ride in quiet solitude or listening to your favorite music on the premium sound system. Other premium touches like the leather-wrapped steering wheel and the Buick Infotainment system with a color touchscreen with HD Audio add style and convenience.
The Essence trim adds leather-appointed seats to the first and second rows. You also get the Lane Change Alert with Blind Side Zone Alert and the Rear Cross-Traffic Alert driver-assist systems. Other technology includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Now you can access your favorite apps, stream your playlists, get navigation information, make calls, and more, using intuitive voice commands.
Moving to the Premier trim, you’ll find an upgraded Bose premium audio system with ten speakers expertly placed to immerse you in theater-quality sound. The front seats come standard with ventilation and a massaging function to help you relax and stay comfortable on your drive. Third-row seats power-fold, opening up additional cargo space, plus you get the Automatic Emergency Braking driver-assist system.
Buick gave the Avenir trim some unique exterior details like a signature grille and a power moonroof with a rear fixed skylight that opens up the cabin to all the light and air. Technology upgrades include a wireless phone charger and the new rear vision mirror camera that projects a broader angle from behind your Enclave right onto your rearview mirror. You also get the HD Surround Vision feature that gives you a bird’s eye view around your Enclave.
Enclave Performance
A switchable all-wheel-drive (AWD) system engages automatically when it senses wheel slippage. It continuously monitors each wheel and distributes power to the wheel or wheels with the most traction to help you through nasty weather and slippery surfaces. In dry conditions, the AWD system improves acceleration and cornering ability.
You can equip the mid-size Enclave with the Trailering Package that includes the wiring harness and hitch. To help guide your hitch to the trailer, the convenient Hitch Guidance system sends a live feed with grid lines to your infotainment screen.
Buick Encore Overview
This five-passenger SUV makes perfect sense for smaller families and drivers looking for SUV performance and the agility to maneuver. In addition, Buick uses many of the same premium features on the Encore as they do on the Enclave, so you’ll be comfortable and connected wherever your busy life takes you.
Buick Encore Trim Highlights
You have two trim options with the Encore, the Preferred, and the GX. The Preferred trim comes standard with features like keyless open and start and Buick Quiet Tuning Technology. Standard premium LED lighting for the headlights, taillights, and daytime running lights illuminate the road as you roll on stylish 18-inch aluminum wheels with Technical Gray pockets. Buick makes the power moonroof available as an option.
The Encore uses a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain delivers surprising responsiveness to go with an exceptional economy. You can choose the capable front-wheel-drive platform or opt for the AWD. With AWD, you get the same intelligent system that distributes power to the wheels that can use it most, keeping you moving even when the surface gets challenging. The AWD system works with Buick’s Stabilitrak, an electronically controlled stability control system.
Buick offers two competent engines to power the agile GX trim. This small SUV was engineered to handle the hustle and bustle of city driving while still providing the capability you want from an SUV. You can get the GX in all-wheel-drive or stick to the front-wheel-drive version. Stabilitrak comes standard with both drive options.
Technology on the GX includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, Buick’s Infotainment system with a color touchscreen, and an available Head-Up Display that projects critical driving data to the windshield. You can add other intelligent features like the rearview camera mirror, a wireless smartphone charging station, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot.
Buick makes available premium options like leather-appointed seats with heating and ventilation and a heated steering wheel. The second-row seat folds flat to give you over 50 cubic feet of cargo space. Its 60/40 split/fold function gives you multiple cargo configurations, and the front passenger seat folds flat to accommodate larger objects.
