Encore GX

The Buick Encore GX is a five-person, extra-small crossover SUV that can get 30 miles per gallon on city driving and 32 mpg on the highway. It has over 50 cubic feet of cargo space with rear seats folded down, which means you have plenty of room for hauling goods, and even the front passenger seat can be folded flat so you can fit longer items like surfboards or skis. The Buick Encore GX comes in three trim options with more features and a higher price as they go up. The base trim is the Preferred, the Select sits in the middle, and at the top of the line is the Essence.

In all trims, you can choose front or all-wheel drive to suit your needs. The Encore GX has a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine which gives you 137 horsepower, and 162 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CTV). Or, you can upgrade to a turbocharged 1.3-liter three-cylinder which gets you to 155 hp, 174 lb-ft of torque with this engine. It is paired to a CVT on front-wheel-drive models, while AWD versions get a nine-speed automatic transmission. All versions of the Encore GX are 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capable, so you can stay connected wherever you go.

Prices

Prices start at MSRP $24,200 for the FWD Preferred base trim, and go up to $30,600 for the Essence with AWD and the larger engine. The Select starts at $26,995 for FWD and $28,995 for AWD. Even at the base level, the Buick Encore GX is more expensive than similarly sized SUVs, but this is because it's been fitted out with quality materials and is Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, putting it ahead of its competitors in convenience and adaptability. If you want a smaller, upscale SUV this might be just the car you've been looking for.
