Buick has released the slightly restyled 2022 Buick Enclave to the market and returned the mid-size SUV to the top of its SUV lineup. There’s a lot to like about the new touches inside and out, and Buick did a great job with the thoughtful changes. Come see the 2022 Enclave at Koons Woodbridge Buick GMC in Woodbridge and take it for a test drive. You’ll want to experience the premium quality of the Enclave up close and personal, and we’re happy to help you get that experience.

Exterior Updates for the 2022 Enclave

The exterior is similar to the 2021 Buick Enclave, but there are noticeable differences including re-designed headlights and grille in the front and rear taillights connected with a strip of chrome. Front and rear bumpers also underwent a touch-up. Overall, the body itself hasn’t changed from the previous year. However, there are new wheel styles to choose from for 2022, and the Avenir gets a set of rims exclusive to the package.

A Peek at the Interior and Technology of the Enclave

The Buick Enclave seats up to seven passengers, and the second row has captain’s chairs instead of a bench seat. The three-row seating changes the game for the passengers in the rear row in that there’s actual legroom and passengers don’t have to climb over seats for access as the second row of seats turns to let people through. The third row also has power folding for ease of removal or addition of cargo space. The power liftgate comes as standard, but now has a hands-free functionality for closing.

The center console gets some updates in the form of new technology with wireless charging and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. A 360-degree camera system will be available as an option. The gear selector from previous model years has been swapped out for a push-button array shift. The rear-view mirror, while not strictly being located in the center console, gets a rear camera mirror. Other driver goodies include a color heads-up display and windshield wipers that turn on automatically during rain.

Buick’s QuietTuning technology prevents road noise from reaching the occupants of the cabin along with reducing noise and shock from hitting a pothole. QuietTuning includes acoustic laminated glass for the windshield and side glass, acoustic insulation material behind the body panels and roof, dual-density carpeting, triple-sealed doors, and underbody paneling to reduce road surface noise. Also adding to the hush are quiet-tuned tires, hydraulic suspension bushing, and an isolated engine cradle to reduce the transmission of engine noise into the cabin.

Advanced Assistance Tech Comes Standard for the 2022 Enclave

The 2022 Buick Enclave receives the Buick Driver Confidence Plus package as standard. The package consists of nine separate features that alert the driver to various driving conditions, aid with driving, and aid with visibility during low-light conditions. The package includes:

  • Front pedestrian braking.
  • Automatic emergency braking.
  • Lane keep assist paired with lane departure warning.
  • Lane change alert with side blind zone alert.
  • Rear parking assist.
  • Forward collision alert.
  • Following distance indicator.
  • Rear cross traffic alert.
  • IntelliBeam or automatic high beams.

Front park assist is also available as an option.

Drivetrains and Engine Options for the Buick Enclave

There are no changes for the drivetrain and engine in 2022 for the Buick Enclave, and you’ll find the hardworking 3.6-liter V-6 gasoline engine that generates 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque with 18 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. The engine is paired to a 9-speed transmission that routes twist to the front or all tires depending on conditions.

You can choose from front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and both options come with StabiliTrak electronic stability control system with traction control as standard. The Enclave is capable of towing up to 5,000 pounds. The start-stop system for the engine that aids fuel economy now features a button in the cabin that can be toggled on or off at will.

Trims and Packages Available for the 2022 Buick Enclave

The 2022 Buick Enclave features three trim levels and one special package known as the Avenir. The trim levels include:

  • Preferred.
  • Essence.
  • Premium.

It’s worth noting that most of the options available on the entry-level trim level of the Preferred are available on the Essence and Premium trims. Buyers who decide to get the Preferred are getting an entry-level Enclave that’s more in line with a fully-loaded car from a lesser make. The Preferred has access to additional options that are found on the Essence and Premium, but not all of them. Upgrading to higher trim levels includes options such as the moon roof, heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, and premium sound packages.

Buick’s rationale behind the lack of major differences between trim levels is one of minimizing the cost differences between each trim. Buyers won’t have to stretch their wallets that far to gain access to the features they want on their 2022 Buick Enclave.

Avenir

The Avenir package has features and details that aren’t found on the standard 2022 Buick Enclave. It gets touches such as unique front and rear fascias, a liftgate emblem, and wheels, grille, and lower body color that’s different from the rest of the car. The interior gets unique trim appliques, seat patterning with piping, and a chrome cargo sill plate. The heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats come as standard. Continuous damping control active suspension technology is available as an option. Last but not least, there’s adaptive cruise control and enhanced automatic emergency braking.
